Despite bouts of rain and some scattered thunderstorms, it’s safe to say that this year, the UK’s summer has been a hot one.
The hottest temperature recorded in the UK was 38.1C in Cambridge, the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK in July and the second hottest day on record. This type of heat can be incredibly disruptive across all industries.
For example, speed restrictions were implemented across rail networks amid fears tracks could buckle in the heat if trains travel too fast.
Those in the industrial, retail and education sectors can be really affected by the rise in temperatures and, by providing our innovative temperature control products, Westgate have worked extensively with companies looking to minimise the negative effects of high temperatures in the summertime.
Take a look at Westgate’s temperature control product range to see how we could help you combat the heat.
Flexiwall is our permanent partition wall manufactured from fire rated PVC materials. It’s suspended and tensioned to form a permanent but reconfigurable, relocatable or removable partition wall that is great for temperature control. Used across the manufacturing and warehouse sector, Flexiwall enables areas to be separated to operate at different temperatures, which is beneficial when requiring chilled storage, e.g. one area at 3 degrees and another at ambient, also reducing the burden on cooling units to cool a larger area than may actually be required. Flexiwall has been used by various big names such as Great Bear and Allied Glass.
Westgate’s range of Fastflex action doors can be used internally or externally to provide unrestricted access and reduce temperature loss or gain in designated areas. Westgate can also design, supply and install an airlock system using two fast action doors and a Flexiwall canopy. Our Fastflex doors have been used by the likes of Kingsland Drinks and Egger.

Easifilm is a quick and cost-effective way to reduce product spoilage and maintain customer, student or employee satisfaction. We’ve worked with many different companies providing Easifilm for solar control, from the National Trust to Gap.
