Hospitals can be stressful places for a lot of people, whether you’re staying or just visiting. So naturally, care must be taken to ensure people are made to feel as comfortable as can be whilst they are there.
One of the main concerns within hospitals is maintaining a certain level of privacy. Of course, this relates to information being kept strictly confidential between patients and healthcare professionals, but also actual physical privacy whilst patients are within the hospital walls.
There are main different points within a hospital where the need for privacy would crop up. First and foremost, hospitals often have a lot of windows to bring in natural light which is helps boost the health and wellbeing of employees and patients. However, with many hospitals being surrounded by other buildings, this can raise a privacy issue as people can view into the hospital from the outside.
Leighton Hospital for example, had buildings overlooking them which enabled people to see in through the hospital windows. To ensure patients had sufficient privacy whilst moving around the hospital corridors, Westgate supplied and installed our WSC MT 200 X white internal 2 way privacy window film. The application of the film increased privacy from the outside looking in and was installed on 34 panes covering a total area of 55m2.
Privacy film can be used in a range of different locations within a hospital. For example, in examination room windows, within bathrooms and between wards.
Westgate have been supplying and installing window film solutions since 1977 and not only can our film increase privacy within hospitals, it can help with the following (depending on which film is chosen):
- Reducing heat and glare
- Protecting patients and public from broken glass
- Enhancing public areas
- Protecting from UV
