How installing glare reduction window film can help protect your office from low winter sun

While it can be easy to overlook bright sunshine as an issue in the winter time, it can in fact be more of an issue in the winter months than in the summer. Although it is fair to say that there is probably more sunshine in the summer, in the winter months the days that we do see the sun it sits low for much of the day.

Keep harsh light out with glare reduction window film

Luckily, help is at hand. At Westgate Solar Control, we’re experts in installing highly sophisticated window film which significantly reduces the harmful effects of low winter sun. Our team can visit your premises to conduct a free assessment, after which they will be able to go through your options with you in full, and offer guidance and advice about the most effective solution for you. Should you decide to go ahead, our technicians will be on site at a time of your choosing to carry out the installation with minimal disruption to your business.

Protect your staff from harsh light and increase productivity

Even for those working away from direct daylight, harsh light reflected in a monitor can cause extreme difficulty when working at a PC. The effects of which can be headaches which are detrimental to the productivity and well-being of your workforce.

Impress your customers and visitors

But it isn’t just your staff who will benefit from a reduction in harmful and unpleasant glare. Customers and visitors will also notice the difference, our customers report on how this has improved conditions at their premises. It’s just another way in which getting harsh light under control can enhance your business.

Choose from standard and high glare reduction window film

We offer window film in a range of different tints, in widths up to 1500mm. Darker tints can reduce glare by up to 90%, while those who prefer a lighter tint can still benefit from a reduction of up to 69%. However, while aesthetic considerations will often have a role in determining which is most suitable, it is also important to consider the extent to which harsh light is causing an issue and contributing factors such as the location of your office when deciding what degree of tinting is right for you.

Harsh light and the location of your office

In fact, the location of your premises plays a major role in determining the severity of harsh light issues. For example, windows which face south and are not obscured by any nearby buildings will experience a higher degree of harsh light, as will offices on the upper floors of taller buildings. If your office is on a lower floor and faces away from direct sunlight for most of the day, a lighter tint may well be sufficient, however installing dark tinted window film is always worth considering, not least because it has the additional benefit of providing more privacy.

Reduce harsh light and diffuse unwanted heat

In addition to filtering out harmful harsh light, our glare reduction window film technology also helps to diffuse heat by up to 44% for high glare reduction film, and by as much as 61% if you opt for a standard film with a lighter tint.

So, don’t let low winter sun create unnecessary difficulty in your office.
