Sustainability in business continues to be a hot topic, especially within the construction sector.
According to the latest edie report, “almost two-thirds of businesses operating in the construction industry are now more committed to taking action on sustainability than they were 12 months ago.”
Not only are finished projects becoming more and more eco-friendly, but the way in which construction projects are carried out are focusing on being more environmentally and circular economy conscious. This includes the methods of construction, the products that are used and the amount of waste created.
Research from the edie report showed that waste management and resource efficiency measures (34%) and sustainable product design and innovation (33%) were top investment priorities for companies within the construction sector.
Traditionally, when fit out contractors are looking to create internal temporary site offices and welfare spaces for employees, plasterboard has been used. It’s a cheap method but unfortunately for two reasons it’s not very sustainable; firstly it’s not easy to move throughout the project and secondly its not easily disposed of or recycled. With contractors looking to be more sustainable as part of their own strategies this is becoming more of an issue.
However, there is a sustainable alternative.
Sustainable and waste free hoarding
We’re proud to offer a sustainable product in our Hoardfast solution that can help construction companies meet their eco-targets by reducing on-site waste. Hoardfast is a great alternative to plasterboard and works perfectly for internal site rooms and welfare spaces. The panels are manufactured from up to 85% recycled materials and at the end of life are 100% recyclable.
It’s a completely reusable system that can be installed and demounted across multiple projects or throughout the same project as phased works are carried out.
Additionally, Hoardfast can be hired for short or long term projects, delivered and collected from site at your convenience.
Used widely across the fit out sector, Hoardfast site offices and welfare rooms can be installed free-standing or floor-to-ceiling. Our Hoardfast site rooms are available in a range of specifications including; fire rated, lightweight PVC or sound reduction.
All are dispatched as standard on a next day delivery service to ensure your project isn’t kept waiting. Hoardfast site rooms can be installed using your own labour, alternatively speak to Westgate about providing an installation service.
