If you’re new to window film you’ll no doubt have a range of questions that you’d like answering before you buy. As a commercial window film supplier and installer, we have the answers!
We’ve worked with a range of clients across a selection of commercial industries including education, health, retail and office fitouts so we’re used to talking through client questions and concerns. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked about our commercial window film.
“How do I know which window film I need?”
This a common question as people may have a combination of issues to tackle and there can be some crossover with our different types of window films. At Westgate we supply a range of of different window films for solar, privacy and security use. However, you may require a combination film that can tackle both glare and improve security for example. In this instance, we would advise you to call us so we can talk through your requirements and recommend the best window film for you.
“Does the window film go on the outside or the inside of the window?”
In most cases, our window films are installed internally. However, depending on the type of film, the positioning of the window and the amount of thermal gain, we do sometimes provide an external fit.
“How does installation work with high level windows?”
High level windows are not a problem when it comes to installation. As standard our installers can install up to a height of 2.7m. When it comes to anything above this height, Westgate will carry out a thorough survey of the building and the windows. This will then enable our inhouse team to arrange relevant access equipment to carry out the installation with ease.
“Will the window film affect how the windows are cleaned afterwards?”
We recommend that internally installed window film is allowed to dry out completely before any cleaning is carried out. This process takes around 2-3 weeks. After that, you can clean the window like you would any normal window that had no film.
Most films have a scratch resistant surface, ask one of our specialists if the film you are purchasing has this benefit.
“Could I have blinds and window film?”
All of our commercial window films and blinds complement each other so it is possible to purchase and install both of them together. The great thing about getting both from the same supplier is that you only have one point of contact should you have any questions or further requirements in the future.
